Warriors vs. Grizzlies, Final Score: Curry’s return ignites 141-128 win

Champs shake off Draymond Green’s early ejection thanks to Curry’s 38 points

The Golden State Warriors, clad in their beautiful, black “Town” uniforms, drowned the Memphis Grizzlies, 141-128. Franchise hero Stephen Curry made his glorious return, reinvigorating the champs’ offense and igniting the Oakland crowd. He finished with 38 points on 13-of-17 shooting (10-of-13 from downtown) in 26 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Dubs had to do it without their defensive anchor Draymond Green for the majority of the game. He received two quick technical fouls for rather tame disagreements with the referees.

Is it just me, or do the Warriors keep making sure to have someone ejected during a “Curry return game”? Something about it appears to always activate Curry’s “Heroic Blood-Thirsty Avenger” mode. Tonight was no different!

The Grizzlies’ All-Star center Marc Gasol put up some quality stats in Green’s absence, finishing with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Ultimately, he was unable to will his team to a victory as Jordan Bell and Zaza Pachulia’s combined defense was effective in the second half. Oh yeah, the duo also went straight “NBA Jams” during a fun sequence in the third quarter.

Klay Thompson chipped in 21 points and Kevin Durant cruised to an easy 20 points. The champs finished with 37 assists with only 10 turnovers. Curry’s ten threes are the most anyone in the NBA has knocked down in a game this season.

Welcome back Steph!

After a loss to Charlotte the night before, Curry’s return has the Dubs back in the win column. Their next game will be NEXT YEAR: January 3rd against the mighty Harrison Barnes and his Dallas Mavericks.

It’s always nice to end the year on a win, baby! Happy New Year, and stay golden, Dub Nation!
