Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award 2025: Submit Your Best Sailing Photography
Do you have the eye for capturing the perfect yacht racing moment? Professional sailing photographers from around the world are invited to submit their finest images to the Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award 2025. Entries must be taken between October 14, 2024, and October 12, 2025, making this an annual showcase of the sport’s most breathtaking action.
The competition is regarded as the most prestigious award in yacht racing photography. Each year, it highlights the drama, power, and beauty of competitive sailing. From sweeping aerial shots of regattas to close-up action on deck, the event celebrates the artistry of photographers who bring yacht racing to life.
An international jury will select the top 80 images, which will be displayed on the official website, yachtracingimage.com, beginning October 20, 2025. Fans worldwide can cast their votes for the Public Award, ensuring that the sailing community itself has a voice in the outcome.
From there, the top 20 images will be exhibited at Metstrade Amsterdam, November 18–20, 2025. This international stage gives photographers unmatched exposure before sailing professionals, media, and industry leaders. Winners will be announced during the show, with cash prizes of US $1,760 for first place, $880 for second, and $300 for third. Additional honors include the Public Award and the Delegate’s Award, which recognize outstanding talent beyond the jury’s decision.
“Exhibiting the 20 best photographs at Metstrade, followed by an award ceremony in front of leading figures from the sailing world, offers unparalleled exposure to the world’s finest yacht racing photographers before a passionate and highly discerning audience,” explains Bernard Schopfer, the contest organizer.
Since its launch in 2010, the competition has attracted hundreds of entries from photographers across the globe. In 2024, 130 photographers from 31 countries took part. That year’s Delegate’s Award winner, French photographer Michael Kurtz, captured the Caribbean spirit with his striking image of the J Class Velsheda maneuvering near the rocks in St. Barths.
The Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award 2025 continues this tradition of excellence, giving photographers a chance to gain worldwide recognition while showcasing the thrill of yacht racing through their lens.
