CLYC Frostbite Season well underway

0 7

On Sunday last, the coast road between Rostrevor and Killowen was closed due to some tree cutting. That did not deter the hardy sailors. Sailing Secretary Brian McConville walked the mountain route, picked up a RIB at Killowen and landed at Rostrevor jetty to pick up some sailors.

There was welcome sunshine, a high tide and a reasonable wind to get the 8 boats racing the 5th race of the Frostbite Season.

The Frostbite Season results are as follows:

First in the A-fleet is Tim Gibbons with 3.3 points, followed by Ian Finnegan and Jim Linton, each with 6 points.

In the B-fleet, David Fegan has a great lead with 8 points, followed by Molly McDonagh with 37 points and Maya O’Neill with 39 points.

However, with 3 more races left in the Frostbite Season, everybody is still in with a chance of winning

The Cranley Mince Pie and Roche Trophy will be held as usual on St Stephen’s Day and everybody is welcome to the Club for the after racing festivities.
