Jack Davies signs for Ponty

0 3

Pontypridd RFC are very pleased to announce the signing of Jack Davies from Cardiff RFC. The 23-year-old centre has joined the Valley Commandos in readiness for the 2025/26 season.

Hailing from Carmarthenshire, Jack played his Junior and Youth rugby for St Clears RFC, captaining the latter. He then moved eastwards starting his senior rugby career for Barry RFC and Cardiff University in BUCS Rugby. Last season, whilst playing for Barry Jack’s impressive performances saw him being picked up by Cardiff RFC and he made his debut for the blue and blacks against Bridgend in the SRC competition.

Jack has earned representative rugby for the Carmarthenshire Schools District side and Scarlets Age Grade, and we are now looking forward to him pulling on the famous black and white throughout the 2025/26 campaign.

Away from the 15-a-side game, Jack, pictured with the ball in hand plays for the Godfathers Rugby Invitational 7s team.

On joining the Valley Commandos ahead of the new season, Jack said: “I’m really proud to be signing for such a great club like Pontypridd RFC. Having done a couple sessions with the squad already at the start of pre-season I have had a good feel of what this club is about and am now really excited to get stuck into the upcoming games. The way the coaches are wanting to play this year is definitely something I want to be a part of and I can’t wait to do so in front of the loyal Ponty fans at Sardis road.”

Pontypridd Head Coach Kristian Parker commented: “It’s great to welcome Jack aboard. Jack bolsters our backline and with his size, strength and speed he gives us various options in different positions. Having plied his trade at Cardiff and Barry, we now can’t wait for him to push on in the black and white. Being young and keen we believe he can learn a lot from Garyn and take his game to the next level.”

Croeso Jack!
