Job Vacancy: Academy Athletic Development Coach (Maternity Cover)

Ulster Rugby is currently inviting applications for the post of Academy Athletic Development Coach to cover a period of maternity leave.

The post holder will support the work, under the direction of the Lead Academy Athletic Development Coach, to provide athletic development and sports science support to Academy and National Talent squad players.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in the area of sports and exercise science, Strength and Conditioning, or human movement or a related discipline.

You must have a minimum of 3 years practical experience (including voluntary and part-time work) of the provision of athletic development for athletes to improve performance, and have experience in the delivery of speed, strength, power & conditioning programmes to athletes. It is also key that you have experience in the assessment and monitoring of players to influence the development of the athletic development programme.

We are looking for an open-minded individual who has a view to adopting new practices, someone who is highly-motivated with a passion for high performance sport, and who is adaptable and flexible in working arrangements to support the needs of the organisation.

Flexibility is key as they should be available to work irregular and unsocial hours as required, involving work outside normal office hours, at evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, and must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

The post is being offered on a specified purpose contract for the expressed purpose of covering maternity leave for approximately one year from the date of commencement.
