“His Love is Rugby.” EORU Junior Athlete Scottie Legg Perishes in Tragic Car Accident.

“His love is rugby.”

Son. Brother. Friend. Teammate. All sterling characteristics we saw in Scottie Legg from the first time he stepped onto a pitch with EORU Jr Rep. We were first introduced to him in 2019 and the impression he left on and off the field let us no other option but to invite him to training and take him on tour with our junior teams.

Scott Legg, 16, was tragically killed in a car crash involving eight other boys in Kingston on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. He leaves behind his loving parents Renee and father Clint, and two brothers. Renee confirmed Scottie’s passion for rugby in an interview with the Kingston Whig Standard: “His love is rugby.”

A talented athlete, Scottie dabbled in many sports including football. He lived rugby’s core values on and off the field. He breathed excellence. Sought opportunity. Demonstrated respect. He led in unity. Scottie’s home club was The Kingston Panthers and he also played with the Canadian Misfits. He applied his spirit, flying fearlessly down the wing. You could always count on him to fire up the pitch and light up the room.

From our entire organization, we send our deepest condolences to the Legg family and all of Scottie’s friends near and far. We will forever hold Scottie in our thoughts and in our hearts. Afterall, rugby is his love.
