EORU Junior Rep Academy Combine Updates

0 6
COMBINE
All registered EORU players in Kingston and Ottawa are welcome to participate in our EORU Jr Rep Academy Combine, supported by Rugby Canada Development Academy and The Toronto Arrows.

If you want to test yourself and record your baseline scores, and see how you rank vs athletes across the province, the time is this Sunday!
Sunday, October 04, 2020
10am – 12 pm

Please arrive dressed (including cleats), with your mask on, and bring your own hand sanitizer, tissues and water bottles. Wear your EORU kit or something plain (no club or school-branded clothing). Coaches will let you know when masks can be removed on the field, and will remind everyone when masks must be worn once again.

COHORTS
Players will be separated into four separate groups: Kingston girls, Kingston boys, Ottawa girls and Ottawa boys. Parents are to drop off their players by the “hut” where one of our COVID-19 Safety Officers will do the initial attestation check. Parents are welcome to park on Twin Elm Road or head out for a couple of hours during the combine. Parents and siblings are not cleared to watch.

MAP
We will post a map on google classroom and Instagram on Saturday afternoon so you know which sanitization station you’ll be heading to and then walking to your appointed field from there.

REGISTRATION and ATTESTATION FOR COMBINE
If you’re already registered with our Academy, the only thing you’ll need to do it accurately complete the attestation form, which will be posted in our google classroom on Saturday night. Even if you signed one the night before and attended Ottawa training on Saturday morning, you’ll need to complete another form for the COMBINE.

If you’re not registered yet, contact leeellenrugby@gmail.com by Wednesday, Sept 30 to secure your spot!

Thank you to Rugby Canada’s Development Academy and The Toronto Arrows for assisting us with this combine opportunity.

COACHING BY DESIGN
This past weekend we were joined by two former professional players. After his playing career, Paul Britton managed Rugby England U19 and coached The Ottawa Harlequins in the Rugby Canada Superleague. One of his players was Stuart Ault, pictured here next to Paul. After his start in rugby in Ottawa, Stuart went on to play in Australia and England, and earned many caps with Rugby Canada’s Senior Men.

This season and through spring, we will be joined periodically by guest coaches. Their wealth of knowledge and breadth of experience serves to enhance the excellence and opportunity our athletes are exposed to through our academy.

We will be rolling out features on our staff in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
