Herron Looks Ahead To Glasgow City Meeting

0 5

Scarlett Herron says the Hibees have been righting the wrongs from last time out as we seek to return to winning ways this weekend.

In our penultimate home fixture of the campaign, Hibs Women will host Glasgow City at Meadowbank Stadium following a narrow defeat to Rangers in the our last match.

After previously enjoying a stretch of nine league matches without defeat, Herron is keen to secure three points and get back on track as the 2025/26 season hurtles toward its conclusion.

"We’re feeling good," the defender told Hibs TV.

"Obviously it was a disappointing loss to Rangers last time out, so we've had a while to reflect on that game with the weekend off.

"We've just taken to the training pitch, we've tried to sort of right the wrongs and focus on City and trying to get three points.

"I think it was a scrappy game [against Rangers], definitely not our best. So I think it's just building on that and we've had a lot of good performances so far in the split.

The Hibees are yet to lose in three league meetings with City this season and should we avoid defeat on Sunday we will maintain our first unbeaten league campaign against the Glasgow club since the 2007 season.

Herron was not aware of the statistic, but hopes to claim the "good achievement" given how competitive the ScottishPower Women's Premier League is.

"It's always good to be extra competitive against these teams and to be able to remain undefeated against any team in the league.

"I think it's a good achievement just given how competitive it is.

"Obviously, City have had a great season and same with everyone else in the split, so I suppose to be able to try and go unbeaten against any team is no mean feat."

The centre-back joined Hibs Women in September 2025 from Shamrock Rovers on a two-year contract and after settling in at the Club, she has quickly became a key player in the squad.

Having has made 18 consecutive starts since mid-November - scoring three times and keeping several clean sheets. Now, she is already looking to keep progressing heading into her second season in Scotland.

"It's been really enjoyable.

"I've taken a lot of learnings obviously since coming in, and to get as many minutes as [I have].

"So, on a personal note, I've really, really enjoyed it. I think it's been a good experience for me, my first year in full-time football.

"It's been really, really enjoyable and I'm looking to build on it for next year."
