Academy Update
Following the conclusion of our first-team season, I thought now a good time to provide a positive update on the progress of our newly formed academy as we move into an exciting next phase of development.
Following a strong response and significant interest in the programme, we have now reached the stage of appointing our coaching staff ahead of next week’s academy trials.
This marks a major milestone in bringing our vision to life, ensuring that players entering the programme will be supported by a dedicated and high-quality coaching team from day one.
Our academy has been built with a clear philosophy; to prioritise player development and performance over profit.
We are committed to creating an environment where talented young players can maximise their potential through high standards of coaching, structured training, and a genuine pathway into the senior game.
As part of this commitment, we have deliberately set our fees at one of the lowest levels within the FAW academy system.
This approach reflects our belief that access to high-quality football development should not be limited by financial barriers, and that opportunity should be based on ability, attitude, and ambition.
You’ll have also seen the progression of our education pathway with the announcement of our partnership with Llandrillo College, which provides us with the best possible further education opportunity to integrate with their footballing programme. This then feeds in well to our linked degree programme with Wrexham University.
I’m also pleased to confirm that positive communication with the FAW continues to take place, this includes myself, Dan Skillan and Josh Antoniou working closely with the National Academi assessors to ensure we come away with the strongest possible academy in year one and our development plans for the coming years remain at the forefront of our day-to-day workload.
Further updates will follow as the academy programme continues to take shape.
