Woking vs Solihull Moors

Enterprise National League

Tuesday 14th April

19:45 Kick-Off

Tuesday night under the lights sees the Cards welcome Solihull Moors to the Laithwaite Community Stadium, looking to continue momentum from Saturday afternoon, where they put five past Morecambe to see the Shrimps’ relegation fate confirmed.

On a busy afternoon, Beautyman increased his tally to ten this term, Drewe netted directly from a corner, Sanderson was at the double, and Ashford found the back of the net against the Shrimps for the second time this campaign.

Sanderson and Drewe were also on the scoresheet when the Cards travelled to take on Solihull earlier in the season, with Kelly the third in a 3-0 victory, the start of a ten-game unbeaten league run for the Surrey side.

Woking also came out on top the last time they hosted the Moors, on February 19th, 2025, with Ward’s 18th-minute header the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory.

Sitting close in the table, Solihull start the day in 13th, with a total of 52 points thus far. In tenth sit Woking, with their 59 points seeing them just one ahead of a Tamworth side who are also in pursuit of a top-ten finish.

The Lambs, however, have only two remaining fixtures, compared to Woking’s three, meaning a crucial three points are on the line for the Cards on Tuesday night, as they attempt to strengthen their grasp on tenth place, and strive to close the gap to Hartlepool in ninth.

Opposition Watch

Recent results have shown strength from the Moors, taking points off play-off placed Southend and Boreham Wood in their last two fixtures. Against the Wood, on Easter Monday, Solihull ran out 4-1 victors, before they played out a goalless draw at Roots Hall last time out.

When extending beyond those two fixtures, however, their form remains mixed, winning just two of their last ten league clashes.

When looking specifically at away form, mixed results continue, with their last win on the road coming on January 24th, with a 2-0 victory over Morecambe.

With three remaining fixtures, a top ten finish is unlikely for the Moors, but they can certainly strive to catch Wealdstone, who currently sit just two points ahead, to secure a top-half of the table finish.

In order to do so, they will be looking to overturn form at the Laithwaite which has seen them win one in their last five visits, with the Cards victorious on three occasions, and the other a 1-1 draw.

One to Watch

Ben Worman begins the matchday amongst those ranked highest in the league for the number of assists this season, showing his influence from midfield.

Indeed, only one has tallied more assists than him this campaign: Boreham Wood’s Zak Brunt, who boasts 13 compared to Worman’s 11.

Having joined from Gateshead in the summer, he has amassed plenty of National League experience, with the highest number of appearances for Gateshead last term, as well as lifting the FA Trophy with the club in May 2024, as the side defeated his then future club of Solihull on penalties.

Now a key player for the Moors, he will hope to continue his influence midweek, driving goalscoring opportunities from midfield.
