£52m Man Utd star set for big test vs Leeds after Scholes told INEOS to 'sell' him
Manchester United have a big challenge today as they host their arch-rivals Leeds United in the Premier League.
Interim head coach Michael Carrick and his men have been on a 24-day break, courtesy of the international break and FA Cup games last weekend.
Carrick is expected to bring Lisandro Martinez back into the starting XI, with Harry Maguire sidelined through suspension.
Martinez is likely to be paired with Leny Yoro. The young Frenchman has done well over the last five games, showing exactly why he is considered a defender with immense potential.
Yoro endured a difficult spell towards the end of 2025, with costly errors against Everton, Bournemouth, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
He has looked far more composed since the switch to a back-four system under Carrick.
The 20-year-old now faces a stern test against Dominic Calvert-Lewin today.
Calvert-Lewin has already netted 10 league goals this season, forcing Thomas Tuchel to select him for the March international friendlies.
A classic centre-forward, Calvert-Lewin thrives on physical duels and relishes the chance to dominate defenders inside the penalty area.
His clinical finishing and aerial prowess make him a constant menace.
Yoro has impressed with his timing in tackles and his ability to read the game, but concentration will be key in limiting Calvert-Lewin’s impact.
Any lapse in positioning could prove costly, especially against a striker who needs little invitation to strike.
Paul Scholes recently claimed that United should sell Yoro. It is time for the £52 million defender to give a fitting response to the club legend.
