Club Statement: Stadium Capacity Update
Since our home fixture against Aldershot Town in late March, which required an increased level of matchday oversight, Woking Football Club has been working closely with the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG) to review matchday operations and ensure the highest standards of safety and supporter experience are maintained.
Looking ahead, a capacity limit of 3,000 will apply for upcoming home matches while a number of additional recommended enhancements are implemented and assessed in consultation with the Safety Advisory Group.
As part of this process, the club was permitted an increased capacity for our recent home fixture against Eastleigh, with additional control measures in place.
The club also recognises that a number of supporters were unable to gain entry to the recent fixture against Eastleigh due to capacity limits being reached. We apologise to those affected and appreciate the frustration this caused. While a strong attendance was anticipated, demand on the day ultimately exceeded the available capacity under the measures in place. In hindsight, we could have communicated more clearly in advance.
The club would like to place on record its thanks to the SAG and all relevant authorities for their continued support and constructive dialogue. These measures are aligned with a shared objective, to provide a safe, secure and enjoyable environment for all supporters.
Work is already underway to address the recommendations, and further updates will be provided as progress is made. Our aim is to increase capacity as progress allows.
In the meantime, with continued high demand expected for our remaining home fixtures, supporters are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. A limited number of tickets will also be made available for purchase at the gate on matchdays to accommodate supporters who are unable to buy in advance.
We appreciate the continued backing of our supporters and look forward to welcoming you to the Laithwaite Community Stadium over the coming weeks.
Together. We Are Woking.
