European associations raise cost concerns ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup
April 2 – European football associations have once again raised the alarm bell over spiralling costs at the FIFA World Cup, with the world governing body’s President Gianni Infantino promising a solution.
The 2026 tournament has been labelled the most expensive World Cup ever, not just for fans because of FIFA’s exorbitant ticket prices, but also for actual finalists, who fear that the competition will not generate much needed income.
FIFA raised the prize money to £546million for this tournament,
