Dartford Women v Dorking: Match Report
DARTS WOMEN BATTLE PAST DORKING WANDERERS AFTER 4-2 VICTORY AT PRINCES PARK!
London and South East Regional Women’s Premier League, played on Sunday 22nd March 2026.
Darts Women were back on home soil again on Sunday as they welcomed Dorking Wanderers FC Women to Princes Park.
The visitors had the better of the early exchanges and went ahead early in the first half. In the 11th minute, Georgia Heasman got in behind the Darts defence and poked the ball beyond the onrushing Darts keeper to open the scoring for the visitors.
The home side reacted well to going behind and went close to getting back level midway through the half. In the 21st minute, Shauni Griffiths found Georgie Davis free at the back post, but the shot on goal from the Darts defender bounced over the Dorking crossbar. The home side continued to create chances as the half went on and were level before half time. In the 32nd minute, Lottie Cunningham with an audacious shot from the right. The shot flew over Dorking keeper Libby Stratton and nestled in the far corner of the net to equalise for the Darts.
The Darts went close to going ahead minutes before the break. In the 43rd minute, a fine run down the right from Lottie Cunningham created a good chance for the home side to take the lead. Successive shots from Shauni Griffiths and Paris Smith were well saved by the Dorking keeper.
The visitors began the second period in similar vain to the first and retook the lead seconds after the restart. In the 46th minute, Dorking forward, Jasmine Smith broke in behind the Darts defence and fired a shot into the far corner to restore the lead for the Wanderers.
The home side reacted well to the early setback in the second half and were level 11 minutes later. In the 57th minute, a cross from the left found Lottie Cunningham in the box. The Darts forward fired home from close range to bring the hosts level.
The Darts were ahead minutes later as in the 63rd minute, a fine through ball put Mya Lewis-Powell through on goal. A fine finish from the Darts forward past the onrushing keeper put the hosts ahead for the first time in the game.
The visitors reacted well to going behind and created a good chance to get back on level terms minutes later. In the 71st minute, Dorking forward Georgia Heasman got in behind the Darts defence, but Mercedes Bromfield recovered superbly well to block the shot on goal.
The hosts had to wait until added time to seal the three points. In the 92nd minute, Abbey Davies sent a high looping cross into the box. Darts defender Mercedes Bromfield rose highest in the box and headed home to seal a hard fought victory for the Darts.
