Milan transfers: Top defensive target and offer for Goretzka revealed
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan are ready to offer Leon Goretzka a €5m-a-year contract until 2029, while Lazio’s Mario Gila is the Rossoneri’s top defensive target for the summer.
Milan are preparing to strengthen their team for 2026-27, when they’ll likely return to the Champions League.
Latest Milan transfer updates on Goretzka and Gila
The club’s main target for the summer is a centre-forward, but the Serie A giants will sign at least one player in each department.
As for the central midfield, free agent Leo Goretzka has long been on the club’s radar.
Milan’s domestic rivals, Juventus, are also interested in Goretzka and have already opened preliminary talks with his entourage. Still, according to Gazzetta, Milan hope to beat the Bianconeri with an offer worth €5m per season for the next three years.
Milan’s main target in defence is Lazio’s Gila, whose contract expires in 2027. The former Real Madrid Academy player is unwilling to extend with the Biancocelesti, so he could leave in the summer for €20m to €25m.
Igli Tare, now a Milan director, is on excellent terms with the defender’s entourage, as he was the one bringing Gila to the Olimpico in 2022.
