Weekend preview: Bassett host promotion chasing Raiders

Another week, another test against Hellenic League Premier Division title hopefuls. On Saturday Royal Wootton Bassett Town's tough run of March fixtures continues as they take on Worcester Raiders. Unlike for their visits to Slimbridge and Corsham Town, Bassett at least have home advantage when they face Raiders with the game taking place at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground (3pm kick off). Jonny Aitkenhead's side fell to a heavy 7-2 defeat in the reverse fixture back in October before losing 3-0 at home in a December Challenge Cup contest. Bassett will therefore be hoping for a positive outcome at the third time of asking against a Raiders side who - like their fellow contenders at the top - have suffered a brief wobble recently. Admission on Saturday is £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members. Then on Sunday Bassett visit basement side AFC Brislington in the South West Regional Women's Football League Division One North (2pm kick off). James Lally's team will be seeking to enhance their promotion hopes and complete a season double over opponents they beat 8-0 at home in January. Also this weekend the Development team enter the final three games of their Wiltshire League Premier Division season with a trip to Trowbridge Town on Saturday (3pm kick off).
