How the Spurs players rated in the first half vs Liverpool
Below, we have given each Tottenham player a performance rating on a scale of 0-10, with 10 highest score achievable for an impressive performance.
Guglielmo Vicario – 4
Back in goal having started on the bench at Atletico. He should have saved the free-kick, left too much space to his right and failed to get a strong hand to the ball. Did better to tip Gakpo’s shot onto the post.
Pedro Porro – 5
Has not had a massive amount to do defensively, but seems to have been tasked with not being allowed to get forward to support Souza in attacking phases.
Kevin Danso – 5
With Liverpool attacking down the flanks, rather than through the middle, he has not had a massive amount to do. Made a good block early on.
Radu Dragusin – 5
No Ekitike on the bench for Liverpool, he has not had to deal with a physical threat from the home side.
Djed Spence – 6
Has had a battle on his hands down the left against Frimpong.
Archie Gray – 5
Playing in his familar central midfield role but has been unable to influence matters.
Pape Matar Sarr – 5
Another who in the midfield role has been mostly resigned to chasing Liverpool in possession.
Souza – 6
The young left back was asked to operate as a right winger. Saw an early long-range effort tipped over the bar by Allison.
Mathys Tel – 6
Playing down the left side of the attack, has seen the ball but has come up against an in-form Dominik Szoboszlai. You can’t fault his work rate.
Richarlison – 5
Playing as the focal point of Tottenham’s attacking three, no clear opportunities for the Brazilian. Would have been relieved to see Gakpo’s shot hit the post after he lost possession moments earlier. Headed wide just before half time and thought he had grabbed a late equaliser.
Dominic Solanke – 5
Broke in behind the Liverpool defence early on, but was unable to make it count.
