Aeron double helps Bay reach top three
TWO goals from Aeron Edwards, both set up by Jordan Davies, helped Colwyn Bay win 3-1 at home to Barry Town United and move into the top three of the JD Cymru Premier Championship Conference table.
Louis Robles put the Bay in front at half-time before Aeron’s second half brace secured three huge points.
Chances were few and far between in a tightly fought first half although Ale Brown had to make a big early save to turn a shot round the post before Alex Moore saw a close range effort saved by Barry keeper George Ratcliffe, who also saved an unconventional scorpion kick by Nathan Peate.
Nathan was hurt in the process and had to be replaced by Ryan Astles, but the Seagulls went ahead right on half-time with a lovely finish from Louis Robles.
Aeron Edwards made it 2-0 from a Jordan Davies pass on 54 minutes and 14 minutes later scored his second with a clever dink over the keeper from another Jordan Davies set up
Matty Hill also went close with a shot that rippled the side-netting.
Michael George pulled a goal back for Barry on 78 minutes, but the Seagulls saw out the rest of the game for a big win against a Barry side who had Daniel Barton red carded in the last 10 minutes for violent conduct.
