Hibs Women Begin Post-Split Campaign Versus Celtic
The Hibees return to ScottishPower Women’s Premier League action this weekend; travelling to take on Celtic in our first post-split fixture of the campaign.
Joelle Murray’s side will face Grant Scott’s outfit at New Douglas Park on Sunday 15 March; kick-off 1pm.
Fixtures
- Celtic Women Vs. Hibernian Women - Sun, Mar 15 2026, 13:00
THE LOWDOWN
The Hibees are on a three-match winning streak in the SPWPL following victories over Hamilton, Motherwell and Aberdeen – with 10 goals scored and zero conceded.
Our 3-0 victory over the Reds at Balmoral Stadium, secured via Kathleen McGovern’s brace and Tiree Burchill’s late strike, was three weeks ago now, allowing for plenty of time on the training pitch at HTC.
Heading into the final 10 fixtures, Hibs are currently fifth in the SPWPL on 34 points and looking upward towards the teams above us – with only seven points separating us from second place.
While several First Team players performed for their respective nations on international duty over the break, we welcomed in a new signing to bolster the squad as English defender Faye Bryson joined up with the team ahead of the split.
TEAM NEWS
Joelle Murray has a healthy squad available to her this weekend in Hamilton.
New addition Bryson will be eligible to play on Sunday, while centre-back Siobhan Hunter has returned to match sharpness and is available for selection.
THE HOSTS
Grant Scott’s side are third in the SPWPL standings as we move into the final stage of the season; having accrued 41 points from 18 games.
Our hosts faced a tough run of fixtures across February but remained unbeaten throughout by securing draws against Rangers and Glasgow City as well as high-scoring wins over Hearts in both the Scottish Cup (4-3 AET) and the league (5-3).
Our last trip to New Douglas Park to face the Hoops occurred in September 2025, with McGovern on the scoresheet as we were held by the home team to a 1-1 draw.
Two encounters across the New Year period saw Celtic pick up narrow one-goal margin wins over Hibs in both the Cup and the league.
