92 chances created: One Man Utd star on another level as stunning Premier League stats emerge

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been in sensational form throughout the season.

It is fair to say he has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League since he arrived at the Theatre of Dreams in January 2020.

Fernandes has taken his game to another level this season, delivering exceptional displays and making a compelling case for the Premier League Player of the Year award.

The statistics paint a remarkable picture, showing the Portuguese playmaker operating on a completely different level compared to the rest of the league.

According to Squawka, the 31-year-old has created an astonishing 92 chances in the Premier League this season.

The next closest player is Dominik Szoboszlai, but he trails far behind with just 56 chances created.

Fernandes also sits comfortably at the top of the table for big chances created, with an impressive tally of 22.

Rayan Cherki and Declan Rice follow some distance behind with 15 and 14 big chances respectively.

These numbers highlight just how exceptional Fernandes’ vision and creativity have been when it comes to unlocking stubborn defences.

His outstanding playmaking has also translated into productivity, with the United captain registering 14 assists in just 26 league appearances.

Cherki, the next best provider, has managed only eight assists during the same period.

The Premier League is packed with elite talents such as Bukayo Saka, Mohamed Salah, Enzo Fernandez and Martin Odegaard, yet none have matched Fernandes’ influence this season.

The United skipper has contributed to 21 goals so far, placing him second only to Erling Haaland in that category.

Remarkably, he achieved those numbers despite missing three matches with a hamstring injury.

He also spent the first half of the campaign playing in a deeper midfield role, which makes his attacking output even more impressive.

Last summer, many pundits and even sections of the United fanbase were open to the idea of selling Fernandes when Saudi clubs showed interest.

In hindsight, allowing him to leave would have been a disastrous decision for the club.

His performances this season should serve as a reminder to those critics before similar calls emerge again in the upcoming transfer window.
