Miguel Delaney reveals view among Premier League club owners about a Tottenham takeover
Miguel Delaney has revealed what the word is among the other Premier League owners about the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur being sold.
The Lewis family have rejected multiple expressions of interest in taking over Tottenham since Daniel Levy was ousted last summer.
There have even been reports of a £4.5 billion attempt to purchase Spurs by a consortium headed by Brooklyn Earick, but nothing concrete has materialised.
Sources continue to suggest that big consortia with sizable funding are continuing to explore a takeover of Tottenham, and we have now learned what the expectation is among other clubs regarding the Lilywhites’ possible sale.
Premier League owners believe Lewis family should sell Tottenham
There have been hardly any indications from Tottenham’s owners that they are looking to cash in on the club.
In fact, reports indicate that the Lewis family is committed to overseeing a new era at Spurs where on-pitch success would be prioritised.
However, Miguel Delaney has now revealed that the view among other Premier League owners and executives is that Tottenham is likely to change hands soon.
Delaney said on The Independent’s YouTube channel: “The view among other Premier League owners and executives is that they ultimately need a sale, a refresh, there is just too much ‘baggage’ around Spurs.
“As one senior figure at another club said to me, any club can succeed in spite of the ownership, but the outlook of the ownership still dictates so much. It tends to show in elements like you know how fully immersed they are in victory, usually in terms of structure and appointments.”
Alan Sugar predicts Spurs sale could be on the cards in the near future
Tottenham’s former owner made an interesting claim last month in reaction to the club’s underwhelming January transfer window.
Alan Sugar suggested that Spurs’ unwillingness to invest in the squad may indicate that a sale is on the cards soon.
Sugar even claimed that the Lewis family may already have a buyer in mind for the North London club.
