Man United plotting transfer move for 18yo defender, Arsenal 'watching him' closely

0 1

Manchester United have undergone a noticeable shift in their recruitment strategy since the arrival of INEOS.

The club has placed a strong emphasis on identifying and signing young players with enormous long-term potential.

Leny Yoro, Sekou Kone, Diego Leon, Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi are just a few of the exciting prospects brought in under this new approach.

It now appears that the Red Devils are preparing to strengthen their youth ranks further with the addition of another promising defender.

According to The Telegraph, United are interested in signing Samuel Amissah from Fulham.

Amissah has yet to make his senior debut, but manager Marco Silva has already included him on the bench seven times this season.

His current contract with Fulham ends at the end of June.

Still in the early stages of his development, the teenager is capable of operating either as a defensive midfielder or as a full-back.

However, United are not the only club showing interest in the highly rated youngster.

While Chelsea are looking to add him to their youth squads, Arsenal are also reportedly watching him closely.

Signing players at this stage of their careers typically requires only a modest investment.

If the youngster fulfils his potential, he could eventually break into the first team, while the club could still recoup a respectable fee if he moves elsewhere.

Amissah has already captained England’s Under-17 side at the European Championship and currently features in the Under-19 squad.

The talented defender clearly has a bright future ahead of him and faces a crucial decision this summer.

He must prioritise joining a club that will carefully nurture his development while offering a genuine pathway to first-team football if he proves good enough.
