First Interview With Faye Bryson!

0 0

Faye Bryson "can't wait to represent Hibernian" after signing on with the Club until the end of the season.

The English defender, who has vast WSL and A-League experience, has signed a short-term contract, which has an option to extend a further year.

Speaking to Hibs TV for the first time, Bryson revealed her instant connection to the Club and her excitement to get going.

"I’m buzzing to be here. As soon as I spoke to the staff and I met the girls, I knew this was the place I wanted to be.

"It has been great. The girls, the staff, everyone is so welcoming. The training facility is great. It's been a great start for me coming here and I'm excited for what's to come."

The 28-year-old came through Everton's youth academy, helping the Toffees to promotion to the topflight in 2017. Three years in the WSL with Everton preceded spells with Bristol City and Reading in England's premier division.

Bryson most recently spent two seasons in Australia - with Central Coast Mariners and Sydney, respectively - and is now looking to carry those experiences over into the SPWPL.

"It was great to sign my first pro deal at 18, and playing in arguably one of the best leagues in the world for women right now was great and great for my progression in my career. It was something I really enjoyed.

"It was great coming up against the world's best players and learning from that and gaining the experience on the pitch. For me, it's something that built me as a player playing against those players and playing in that league.

"(Australia) was totally different - all the way over the other side of the world. The football was a lot different. It was a lot more transitional (compared) to technical and tactical like England was. The lifestyle over there was amazing.

"I think for me, in this point of my career, I am just looking for something new and a new challenge. That's ended me here in Scotland."

With 10 matches to play in the 2025/26 season, Bryson will provide an additional spark to the squad as well as defensive solidity.

"I would say my playing style, I love to defend as much as I love to attack," Bryson commented.

"Defensively, I'm pretty sound in my one-v-ones, and then I love to go up the other end and either assist or try and get a goal. I just think as soon as I put the shirt on, I'm here to give my all.

"I'm super excited to get out there. With the split happening, it makes the league really competitive and I can't wait. Our first game will be against Celtic and I can't wait to get out there and represent Hibernian."
