Aston Villa face a major test in the fight for Champions League places when they welcome Chelsea to Villa Park on Wednesday night.
Villa won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in the reverse fixture in the Premier League. Ollie Watkins scored twice as Villa came from a goal down to bank all three points and continue their fine winning run.
Unai Emery was getting almost everything right by the time that match was played in west London in December. The first half wasn’t up to scratch but the result, and the form, made it not matter much. After defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night, it’s fair to say the picture has changed.
What time does Villa v Chelsea kick off?
There’s a full midweek programme of Premier League fixtures to enjoy or tolerate as you see fit and it all gets underway with three 7.30pm kick-offs on Tuesday night, followed by a later game at 8.15pm the same day.
Five matches will be played on Wednesday including Villa’s against Chelsea and Manchester United’s visit to Newcastle United, the night’s top pick and 8.15pm kick-off. Tottenham Hotspur face Crystal Palace in a lone fixture on Thursday.
