Seagulls are beaten by Caernarfon again

0 1

COLWYN BAY suffered another disappointing defeat to Caernarfon Town as the Cofis followed up their recent 4-1 Welsh Cup success with a 3-0 Friday night victory at the Go Goodwin stadium in Llandudno.

Once again Caernarfon showed some clinical finishing while Colwyn Bay couldn’t convert a number of opportunities.

In the first half Jorrdan Davies fired an early chance over the bar and Ethan Roberts was unable to convert a chance from the edge of the box before Caernarfon scored from their first real chance of game on 23 minutes as great play by Rio Owen on the right set up a tap in for Brad Young.

Home keeper Connor Roberts then made a great save from a powerful shot on the turn from Jordan Davies to keep his side in front at half-time.

Colwyn Bay forced a flurry of corners at the start of the second half, attacking down both flanks, without being able to add a finishing touch, while Alex Moore fired a chance just wide of the near post and Louis Robles had a goal disallowed for something the linesman spotted in the build-up.

Conor Roberts then saved his side again from a promising Bay break.

Having survived the Bay pressure Caernarfon doubled their lead through Brad Young’s shot on the turn on 68 minutes and Dan Gosset added the third goal ten minutes from the end.

COLWYN BAY: Alex Brown, Nathan Peate, Sol Forde, Jordan Davies, Louis Robles (Aaron Williams 90), Ethan Roberts (Lewis Sirrell 89), Alex Moore, Aron Williams (Matty Hill 64), Ryan Astles (Sam Hart 90), Aeron Edwards (Jamie Cumming 79), George Hughes. Unused sub: Luke Murphy (G).

Attendance: 873
