Hibees On International Duty!
It is a busy month ahead for several Hibees who will represent both club and country across the next month – find out more below!
Kathleen McGovern – Scotland
Reinstated by SWNT Head Coach Melissa Andreatta, Kathleen McGovern is ready to add to her four Scotland caps following her return to full fitness.
The forward, who has scored two goals for her country, missed the last camp due to an injury sustained in November. Despite the setback, McGovern has immediately refound her goalscoring touch, having netted twice in four games – scoring against Rangers and Motherwell, respectively – since returning to action.
Scotland will begin their 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification campaign with a double-header against Luxembourg.
The first match will take place in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, on Tuesday 3 March at 6:30pm (UK time), before the reverse fixture at Barclays Hampden kicks off at 5pm on Saturday 7 March.
Stacey Papadopoulos – Greece
Versatile defender Stacey Papadopoulos will return to international action for Greece next month following her first caps at the tailend of last year.
The 29-year-old earned her first cap in November 2025, impressing at full-back while playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 victory over Belarus, and will now seek to gain more caps for her country following a well-deserved recall.
Following two friendly appearances Papadopoulos will now have her first taste of competitive international action, as Greece begin their 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
Ethniki will host both Georgia and the Faroe Islands in Crete at the Theodoros Vardinogiannis Stadium on Tuesday 3 March and Saturday 7 March, respectively.
Eilidh Adams, Tegan Bowie & Rosie Livingstone – Scotland U23s
A trio of Hibernian attackers have been named in Michael McArdle’s 18-strong squad to face the Netherlands in March.
All three players have impressed for Hibs this season. Adams has scored 13 goals in all competitions, Bowie has supplied 10 league assists, and Livingstone has 12 goal contributions in total.
Adams, Bowie and Livingstone have regularly earned call-ups to the U23s in the past year – with all three playing their part in a memorable 3-1 victory over Italy last year, as Adams both found the net and provided an assist on the day.
The international friendly match against the Netherlands will take place in Inverness at the Sarens PSG Stadium on Monday 2 March; kick-off 7pm. Supporters can attend this match for free.
Rowena Armitage – Scotland U19s
17-year-old goalkeeper Rowena Armitage has been selected by Scotland U19s head coach Gary Doctor for an international friendly double-header against Belgium.
The young shot-stopper made her U19s debut in November 2025 in a 1-1 draw versus Slovakia. It has been an exciting season so far for Armitage, as – alongside impressive international honours – she has also made her European, Scottish Women’s Premier League and Scottish Cup debuts for Hibernian.
The two matches against the Red Flames will serve as preparation for Scotland U19s’ upcoming UEFA Women’s Championship Round Two qualifiers.
Both games will be played in Tubize, Belgium. The first match will kick-off at 3pm (UK time) on Saturday 28 February, before the second fixture begins at 10am on Tuesday 3 March.
Jess Ramsay, Isla Taylor & Eilidh McCormack – Scotland U17s
Jess Ramsay, Isla Taylor, who is currently excelling on loan at Partick Thistle, and Eilidh McCormack have all been named in Michael Tuohy's upcoming Scotland U17s squad.
Ramsay and McCormack played in the U17s' MIMA Cup clashes in February, with the former getting on the scoresheet against Wales!
Now the trio prepare for three crucial UEFA U17 Championship Round Two matches, which will all be held in Norway.
The youngsters will face Norway at Sarpsborg Stadium on Thursday 12 March before travelling to Fredrikstad to face Switzerland on Sunday 15 March.
Tuohy's side will then return to Sarpsborg to play Greece in their third and final fixture on Wednesday 18 March.
