If my memory serves me right, he responded with something like ' well, it's for the players really, but yeah, it is'

I always found that a bit jarring, although I might have misremembered it a bit after all this time.

I don't think that the Wolves fans were particularly impressed with him - didn't he get sent home after turning up for training in a 'tired ad emotional' state? IIRC, he was shipped out to Fulham (edit: Sheffield Wednesday) on loan after that.
