Re the US, I've spent a lot of the time in the all over the country so know it's not 'dangerous' to go but it just feels a bit wrong to be going giving the political climate.
Comment re Nicaragua acknowledged ???? I had no idea that was the situation there.
Of course, no country is perfect.
I've had a look at Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatemala so far. I'm going to basically look at all countries in Central and Southern America (maybe miss out Venezuela, Cuba etc ???? ).
We want to do a bit of hiking but conscious of having enough time to do the bigger ones e.g. Machu Pichu.
We like exploring places, so towns and cities. Happy to swim, surf, snorkel but diving doesn't massively appeal.
Loc food and drink is important too
