Patriots Rival Predicted To Land A.J. Brown In Crazy Blockbuster Trade Proposal
The New England Patriots may be eager to make a significant move in the market for a top wide receiver this offseason, and one player who could be on the trading block is A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.
If the Eagles decide to part ways with Brown, the Patriots should definitely get involved. However, many other teams are expected to pursue him as well. Recently, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell proposed a trade that would send Brown to the Denver Broncos rather than to New England.
Barnwell has the Eagles sending Brown and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Denver for cornerback Riley Moss, a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick.
“The Broncos would be willing to move on from Moss because of what they have at cornerback. Surtain is not going anywhere,” Barnwell wrote on Monday. “Ja’Quan McMillian — a restricted free agent — has been excellent in the slot. And GM George Paton used Denver’s 2025 first-round pick to draft Jahdae Barron out of Texas. Barron played only 334 snaps during his rookie year, spending most of that time in the slot, but the Broncos obviously expect him to play more in the years to come. Trading Moss a year before free agency would lock in a draft pick and open a spot for Barron in the lineup.
“Plus, Brown would be the wideout of Bo Nix’s and Sean Payton’s dreams. Nix’s accuracy issues downfield would be mitigated by Brown’s size, catch radius and ability to win on contested-catch opportunities. Payton has unlocked massive seasons from bigger wide receivers such as Marques Colston and Michael Thomas.”
It would be painful to witness the Broncos trade for Brown instead of the Patriots, especially since both teams were at the top of the AFC this season and faced each other in the AFC Championship Game.
Bringing Brown on board could really elevate Denver’s chances next season and potentially lead it to the Super Bowl.
