Manchester United took a point on the road against West Ham United on Tuesday evening.

Tomas Soucek fired the Hammers ahead but a stoppage-time equaliser from Benjamin Sesko stunned the London Stadium.

While Sesko, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro delivered commanding performances, Amad Diallo struggled to make his mark and endured a frustrating night.

Diallo was handed his fifth consecutive start on the right wing under caretaker head coach Michael Carrick, but he failed to justify his selection.

The Ivorian was unable to produce a single key pass or deliver one successful cross, highlighting his lack of influence in the final third.

He managed just one shot all evening, and even that effort only found the side netting from an extremely tight angle.

He helped Diogo Dalot in defending, winning six duels and making two tackles, but he also surrendered possession 10 times. The 23-year-old ultimately got just 4/10 rating in our post-match analysis.

Diallo has two goals and two assists in 20 league games this campaign.

Much of his football under former manager Ruben Amorim came at right wing-back, a role that suited his work rate more than his attacking output.

He was a trusted figure under the Portuguese and remains one of Carrick’s regular picks, but patience may be wearing thin.

A glaring moment came when Diallo ignored a lung-bursting overlap from Dalot and instead opted for a safe sideways pass, much to the frustration of supporters.

Carrick may have considered replacing him, but a lack of natural wingers on the bench forced the United manager to keep Diallo on the pitch.

Antony and Alejandro Garnacho were offloaded last summer. Patrick Dorgu could play as a winger but he is currently injured.

Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha both prefer to drift inside, leaving United short of natural width.

That could open the door for Shea Lacey, who may provide a fresh spark if fit. Carrick may seriously consider handing Lacey a start ahead of Diallo against Everton in search of greater cutting-edge.
