YOU might know your Charlie Fox from your Pignatiellos, but do you know your Charizards from your Pikachu and Pidgeotto?
Our new neighbours on Letherby Drive certainly do!
Victory Road are Glasgow’s Pokemon experts and have recently opened next door to Queen’s Park FC with a one-stop shop for all things trading cards, collectibles and Pokemon.
The shop is a treasure trove devoted to the card game, turned TV and computer game, phenomenon which started in Japan in the mid-1990s.
Since then it has captivated kids, and grown-ups too, including Scott Morrison – leading to him opening up the hub, named after a beloved area in the game.
But Scott is also keen to establish roots in the new ‘Victory Road’ and has teamed up with the Spiders next door as sponsors of our match mascots.
He said: “Every Pokémon journey starts somewhere and for a lot of Glasgow trainers, it starts here.
“Victory Road Collectables is a community built on shared pulls, bad luck laughs, big wins, and the simple joy of sitting round a table talking Pokémon with good folk.
“We’ve had a warm welcome to our new southside shop by Queen’s Park and are delighted to team up with the club – supporters are very welcome to drop in, have a look around, or even take part.”
Kieran Koszary, Queen’s Park head of commercial, said: “It’s been great getting to know Scott and his team over the past couple of months and we’re delighted to see business booming.
“Every young fan I know loves Pokemon so we are delighted Victory Road have come on board with the club – hopefully this proves to be a winning combination and route to success for both in our latest partnership.”
Scott is pictured with daughter Isla and fellow Pokemon fan Holly Beaton outside the shop on Letherby Drive.
