To our 600 Spiders at Ibrox

0 1

QUEEN’S PARK FC would like to echo the words of head coach Sean Crighton when he praised our travelling supporters following our Scottish Gas Scottish Cup fifth round match with Rangers FC.

Almost 600 Spiders supporters made the short trip to Ibrox, and our players and coaching staff appreciated the support throughout our defeat and exit from the competition.

Sean said: “I just want to say a massive thanks to our fans today. The support they gave us right from the first whistle to the last was absolutely first class.

“We’d also like to apologise because the performance and result wasn’t what we were looking for, but it won’t define our season. We need you back to support us again, starting with Ross County away next weekend.

“Thanks again to everyone who came along and backed us at Ibrox.”

Despite pro-active discussions with supporters groups in the days leading up to the match regarding behaviour and responsibilities, we are extremely disappointed by the conduct of a small group within the away section yesterday.

This behaviour included the release of a pyrotechnic device, and negatively impacted the occasion for Queen’s Park supporters in the vicinity.

The club is now working with authorities and Rangers FC and will take necessary action when individuals involved are identified.

While Queen’s Park FC condemns this incident and these actions, they do not detract from the club’s appreciation of the impressive turnout, backing and conduct of the vast majority of our travelling supporters at Ibrox.

We look forward to seeing another excellent turnout and more positive support at Dingwall this Saturday.
Spaces on the QPSA bus can be booked HERE.
