Patriots Get Good/Bad News In Penultimate Practice Before Super Bowl

The New England Patriots are (sort of) getting healthier ahead of Super Bowl LX.

Robert Spillane, who has been dealing with an ankle injury that not only contributed to him missing four games at the conclusion of the regular season but caused him to exit early during an AFC Championship victory over the Denver Broncos, returned to practice for the first time in two weeks on Thursday.

Harold Landry III, who returned to practice this week after previously missing time with a knee injury, saw his status go the other way as he was once again sidelined.

Spillane has insisted that he’ll be ready to go for the Super Bowl, doubling down despite conflicting words over the last couple of days. Landry, who did not play in the conference championship game, said he was confident in his ability to play earlier this week, though missing practice after previously returning isn’t a great sign.

Drake Maye, who suffered a shoulder injury during that same game, was previously listed as a limited participant on the injury report but remained a full participant for the second consecutive day. Thayer Munford Jr. (knee) remained limited.
