Gallagher insisted that the players and the coaching staff are remaining positive, and the midfielder is convinced that Tottenham will shoot up the Premier League table.

Speaking before the Man City draw, the 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: “It’s a fresh start. I have a similar feeling to everyone, but I’ve not experienced their Premier League season so far, so I’ve come in with a fresh mind, and I wanted to help the group.

“Unfortunately, it did not work exactly how I planned it would in the first couple of games, but that’s football. It’s something we are working on. We know we need to stay positive.

“The manager has been amazing since I came in, with how he has been with the group and how positive he is staying and where we can improve. I honestly think the only way is up, and we will get much better in the Premier League.”

Stats indicate that Spurs are improving despite poor results
