Queen’s Park v Ross County – match preview

0 0

The Spiders welcome the tenth-placed Staggies in a bottom of the Championship clash at The city Stadium.

This match was scheduled for November, however chilly winter weather and a drop in temperature during the warm-up led to the match being postponed just minutes from kick-off on player safety grounds.

There are no such fears this Tuesday night and a mild February night is in store for supporters heading to the southside.

Seb Drozd was on target at the weekend

There will be no BBC cameras in The city Stadium this time either, however QPTV will stream the game PPV to a domestic and international audience.

The Season so far...

Neither Ross County nor Queen’s Park have managed to find much consistency this season and both find themselves at the wrong end of the William Hill Championship table.

That said, the Spiders are one of the form teams in the league over the last five games with last weekend’s defeat to Raith Rovers the only L since early December.

Only once this season have these sides managed back to back wins, but the Spiders have the chance to repeat that in this rescheduled game.

The match back in November fell foul of the weather at the final hurdle – called off during the warm-up as The city Stadium iced up.

Nikolay Todorov joined the Spiders

Back then the sides were eighth and ninth separated by one point. Now they’re a place worse off but the Spiders are two points ahead of the Stagies.

That’s not the only change either. Tony Docherty and Callum Davidson are now in the past for the Dingwall side, with ex-Spiders midfielder Stuart Kettlewell back in charge at the Global Energy Arena.

That instigated a new manager bounce, but Saturday’s reverse to Morton saw Queen’s Park move back off the basement.

Both sides have a new striker each having lost their talisman during this month’s transfer trading. Nikolay Todorov is in Sean Crighton’s plans following the exit of Josh Fowler while Ronan Hale’s place has been taken by Uche Ikpeazhu.
