Career So Far: Ante Suto
David Gray has bolstered his attacking options once more with the addition of Croatian-Australian winger Ante Suto, who becomes our fifth arrival of the window!
The 25-year-old forward makes the move to Easter Road Stadium from HNL side Slaven Belupo, signing on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Born in the quaint town of Imotski, Croatia, in 2000, Suto can represent both Croatia and Australia internationally.
He progressed through Hajduk Split’s youth academy before making his professional league debut with second-tier Croatian side Croatia Zmijavci against in a 2-0 win over Dubrava ZG.
Suto went on to make 86 league appearances with Croatia Zmijavci, scoring 14 goals and grabbing 11 assists.
Excellent showings at such a young age in the Prva NL earned the attacker a move to the topflight, as he signed on with Slaven Belupo in January 2024.
In his first full season with Slaven, Suto made five goal contributions in 20 appearances, while playing an integral role in his side’s journey to the Croatian Cup final – playing four times en route to the two-legged final, in which the opposition, Rijeka, triumphed.
This season, Suto has scored four goals and provided six assists for Slaven Belupo in 18 league games – helping the team to sixth-place in the standings after 20 games played.
Goals against Vukovar and Osijek were followed up by a terrific brace on away soil against Varazdin – in which Suto showed his pace and strength to twice break beyond the host’s backline and finish low with his left foot.
Ante now joins up with the Hibees ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 campaign after signing on the dotted line until 2028!
