State of play rest of the season
Thought I would look into some numbers regarding playoffs etc and thought others may find interesting.
Last 5 seasons 6th place have had:
20/21 Bournemouth 77 points
21/22 Luton 75
22/23 Sunderland 69
23/24 Norwich 73
24/25 Bristol City 68
Automatics (2nd place) last 5 seasons:
20/21 Watford 91
21/22 Bournemouth 88
22/23 Sheff UTD 91
23/24 Ipswich 96
24/25 Burnley 100
We’re currently 39 points from 29 games with 17 games remaining.
Our max remaining points is 51 which means our max best possible finish is 90 points
With our average points from 29 games applied to the remaining 17 games that gives us 23 points so 62 in total.
To have a chance of playoffs this season we’re realistically going to need to aim for 75 points, that’s 36 points required.
Come on Blues, give us a brilliant end to the season to remember.
