Thomas Frank answers concerns over Pedro Porro and Cristian Romero withdrawals
Concerns were raised late on at Turf Moor as two key Tottenham defenders were withdrawn and now Thomas Frank has revealed why.

Thomas Frank’s side has managed just two wins in fourteen league games and now sits dangerously close to the drop zone.
Eighteenth-placed Burnley managed to snatch a draw against Tottenham, who saw their early lead cancelled before the contest ended 2-2.

Cristian Romero once again featured for Tottenham and found the scoresheet for the third game in a row, although his defending for Burnley’s second goal was questionable.
During his celebration, the Argentine appeared to kick out at the advertising boards before picking up what looked to be a knock, prompting concern over his condition late on.
Pedro Porro also switched off defensively at the back post to allow Burnley to grab their equaliser, with the Spaniard later substituted at the break, with Udogie coming in to replace him.
After the game, Thomas Frank was asked directly about the pair’s situations. Addressing Romero’s physical condition and Porro’s withdrawal, the Tottenham head coach explained the thinking behind his decisions.
He told football.london: “Romero was cramping in the end. Pedro was physical, played a lot of minutes, we had more running power with Djed to the right and then Destiny in.”
Pressure builds as Tottenham look ahead
Attention now turns to the Champions League for Tottenham following their draw at Turf Moor, with qualification in Europe on the line.
Frank remains under pressure and was once again told he was getting sacked in the morning by frustrated Spurs supporters.
Tottenham’s recent form threatens to drag them into a relegation scrap, with the next five fixtures presenting a difficult run.
