Thomas Frank makes transfer promise that will be unpopular with two Tottenham players

0 7

Thomas Frank has made it clear whether any Tottenham players will be offloaded in the final week of the transfer window.

There is no shortage of speculation linking various Tottenham players with a move away from N17.

Mathys Tel is reportedly keen to leave Spurs, while reports in Italy continue to suggest that Radu Dragusin wants to join AS Roma.

There have also been rumours suggesting that Antonin Kinsky could be loaned out by Tottenham, while some outlets have even claimed that Randal Kolo Muani’s loan spell at N17 could be cut short.

Thomas Frank clarifies Tottenham’s stance on late exits

Tottenham are in the midst of an injury crisis at the moment, and Frank has made it clear that the club have decided to close the door on any exits.

He made it clear that the Lilywhites are going to need all the help they can get, given that they are short on numbers.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s clash against Burnley, Frank told Football.London: “No [more moves out]. The players we have in our squad, we need to keep, to have enough players to play with and perform with. One thing is the Dortmund game, where we did not have that many available players; it’s difficult to change the game if you need it, or keep the freshness up.

“You can see we put Jun’ai [Byfield] on, which was lovely, by the way. I think he did fantastic. I think it was clearly a player with big potential, but also putting Pedro [Porro] into the midfield. You need to be a little bit creative sometimes. The good thing is we definitely have more players available for Saturday, but we need all the players available.”

What does this mean for potential incomings at Spurs?

Tottenham’s decision to put a halt to all potential exits could indicate that we are also unlikely to see any further incomings.

At the start of this month, it was widely reported that Spurs are keen on adding a top-class winger to their squad, but that now appears to have gone quiet.

Perhaps, the uncertainty over Frank’s Tottenham future may have caused second thoughts at the North London club about backing the Dane with big-money additions.
