Alasdair Gold cannot see a world in which Tottenham sign £76m mislabelled striker
Alasdair Gold does not believe that one Tottenham Hotspur star will be at the club beyond the end of this season.
Tottenham have had major problems upfront, with the club’s premier striker, Dominic Solanke, just recently returning from a long-term injury.
While Richarlison has been Spurs’ top scorer with eight goals, he too has blown hot and cold, and the Brazilian has now been ruled out through injury for a sustained period.
However, the biggest disappointment upfront has been Randal Kolo Muani, who is still waiting for his first Premier League goal.
Alasdair Gold makes claim about Randal Kolo Muani’s Tottenham future
There was some excitement when the Frenchman arrived on loan from PSG in a late deal in the summer – a player who the French giants paid £76m for – but he has failed to live up to expectations.
Reports from France indicate that Tottenham will be given an ‘easy route’ to sign Kolo Muani permanently in the summer, but Alasdair Gold is confident that the Lilywhites will not take up the option to do so.
Gold said about the French international on his YouTube channel: “He’s labelled as a striker, but my goodness, if you watch his play around the box, you’d struggle to see him throw himself at anything like a natural striker would,
“At this point in time, I cannot see a world where Spurs are making his deal permanent, unless there is an incredible turnaround the rest of the season for him.”
Spurs fans are divided on Kolo Muani
Kolo Muani has said that he feels settled at Tottenham, and continues to make the right noises, but we have not seen that translate to on-pitch performances.
Despite his struggles in front of goal, some Spurs fans have been impressed by parts of Kolo Muani’s game and are not opposed to the idea of keeping him.
However, the reality is that unless the forward scores at least eight to 10 goals over the next four months, it would be difficult to justify paying a fee for him.
