Hibs Women host Hamilton Academical at Meadowbank Stadium this weekend – read our full match preview below!

Fixtures

  • Hibernian Women Vs. Hamilton Academical Women - Sun, Jan 25 2026, 13:00

THE LOWDOWN

Head Coach Joelle Murray will take charge of a home league match for the first time this weekend, as the Hibees welcome Hamilton to Meadowbank Stadium for a 1pm kick-off.

An injury-hit Hibs went down fighting last weekend at Broadwood Stadium, narrowly losing out 2-1 against Rangers.

Kirsten Reilly was dismissed after 29 minutes, and 10-player Hibs found themselves behind by two at the break. Kathleen McGovern netted late on in stoppage-time, but it was too late for the disadvantaged Hibees to complete a dramatic comeback.

This result keeps Hibs fifth-place in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League table following a tough run of results across the new year.

TEAM NEWS

Caley Gibb, Siobhan Hunter, and Milly Boughton all missed out last weekend against Rangers, and will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s match. Meanwhile, Linzi Taylor continues to make good progress in her recovery.

Central midfielder Kirsten Reilly will be suspended for this match after receiving a red card against Rangers last time out.

THE VISITORS

Robert Watson’s side have endured a difficult start to life back in the topflight following promotion last summer.

The Accies head into Sunday’s clash in EH7 having not played a match since late December following a postponement to their scheduled fixture last weekend – due to Aberdeen’s Scottish Gas Scottish Cup tie against Montrose being pushed back.

This means the New Douglas Park outfit’s last game was their 1-1 draw against Montrose on Sunday 21 December – over one month ago. This result put a first point on the board for Hamilton in the league following 13 consecutive losses.

Our last meeting with Accies came in September at New Douglas Park; with Kirsty Morrison, Ellis Notley and Scarlett Herron each scoring once while Siobhan Hunter nabbed a brace in a comfortable 5-0 win for the Hibees.
