Confirmed Man United XI vs Man City: Carrick makes five changes to 4-2-3-1, Mainoo & Mbeumo in, Sesko dropped

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has named his starting line-up for today’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at Old Trafford.

This fixture marks Carrick’s first game in charge of the club after the sacking of Ruben Amorim.

Carrick has made five changes to the Man United XI that lost 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Senne Lammens continues to be between the sticks.

The 23-year-old will have to put in a big shift today if United are to carve out a positive result.

Diogo Dalot is undisputed in the right-back spot, with Noussair Mazraoui currently participating in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez start at the heart of defence.

Maguire makes his first start in two months, replacing Leny Yoro in the XI.

Luke Shaw comes in place of Patrick Dorgu, who is shifted to the left wing position.

Casemiro returns to the line-up and will be paired with Kobbie Mainoo. Manuel Ugarte makes way for the Brazilian.

The 20-year-old makes his first Premier League start of the season.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes continues in his favoured number 10 position and will be given the responsibility to pull the strings in midfield.

Dorgu and Amad Diallo support him on the flanks with Bryan Mbeumo leading the line.

Mbeumo and Diallo return after their national sides were knocked out of AFCON last week.

Mason Mount, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha have been dropped to the bench.
