Tottenham have three names on shortlist to replace Thomas Frank if he is sacked
Tottenham Hotspur have settled on a three-man wishlist to take over from Thomas Frank as the Dane’s position continues to come under major scrutiny.
Frank has been backed with two signings in the January window so far, and reports indicate that more signings are expected to arrive, which suggests that he still has the backing of the club’s hierarchy.
We have also heard reports suggesting that the Tottenham head coach will be given the whole season, and his position will only be reviewed at the end of the campaign.
However, that has not stopped speculation linking various managers with the N17 hotseat over the last month or so.
Andoni Iraola heads Tottenham’s three-man managerial shortlist if Thomas Frank goes
According to TEAMtalk, the Spurs hierarchy has come up with a shortlist in case they do decide to part company with Frank.
Among the names admired by the Tottenham board is Bournemouth Andoni Iraola, who is highly regarded by the decision makers at the North London club.
Another Premier League boss admired by Spurs is Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner, who is expected to leave Selhurst Park at the end of this campaign.
Finally, sources say that Mauricio Pochettino is also a candidate being eyed by the club, with the Argentine open to returning to his former stomping ground.
Spurs could make an interim appointment until the summer
TEAMtalk say that contrary to claims by the Spanish media over the last 24 hours, Tottenham have not approached Xabi Alonso since his sacking by Real Madrid.
The outlet explains that there is a possibility that the Lilywhites could turn to an interim head coach if they decide to part company with Frank before the end of the season.
One name suggested as a possible interim option is Ryan Mason, whose first managerial stint at West Brom ended a week and a half ago.
