Conor Gallagher’s girlfriend reveals just how fast £35m Tottenham transfer happened
Conor Gallagher’s girlfriend has given an insight into how the Tottenham Hotspur transfer happened out of nowhere for the midfielder.
On Monday morning, it was reported that Gallagher had agreed a deal to join Aston Villa, but merely hours later, Fabrizio Romano had given his ‘here we go’ for Gallagher’s move to Spurs.
The pace of the agreement is not something Tottenham fans were used to during the Daniel Levy era, when the Lilywhites often dragged out deals until the final days of the window to save as much money as possible.
Gallagher has now been confirmed as a Spurs player, and he is now in line to make his Tottenham debut against West Ham on Saturday.
Conor Gallagher’s girlfriend reveals Tottenham transfer came out of the blue
A report in talkSPORT has shared a series of social media posts that Gallagher’s girlfriend shared, which show how expected a move to N17 was for the couple.
Her first post read: “Here we go again” ahead of the pair’s return to London, while she wrote in another: “It was just a normal Monday morning until the phone rang again.”
Finally, in a more lengthy post, she wrote: “Life is crazy. “We are going home, while leaving a city (Madrid) that we will call home forever. One minute we are cooking dinner, the next minute we are packing suitcases. You’re the best CG. This is going to be so good. I’m so happy and excited for you to start a new chapter. COYS”
Gallagher cannot wait to get going at Spurs
In his first interview with Tottenham’s official channel, Gallagher admitted that he is excited to be a Spurs player.
The 25-year-old confessed that he wanted the transfer and spoke about his keenness to get going, now that he is back in the Premier League after 18 months in Spain.
Gallagher has taken the number 22 shirt vacated by Brennan Johnson, which is also the number previously worn by club legend Robbie Keane.
