Serie A | Napoli 0-0 Parma – Player Ratings as Rinaldi shines for visitors
Napoli drew 0-0 with Parma this evening as the Partenopei lose more ground in this season’s Scudetto race.
Antonio Conte’s side, led tonight by Cristian Stellini, are now without a win in three games in Serie A, drawing with Verona, Inter and now Parma.
Football Italia’s Player of the Match was Parma goalkeeper Filippo Rinaldi.
Napoli 0-0 Parma – Player Ratings
Napoli: Milinkovic-Savic 6; Di Lorenzo 7, Rrahmani 7, Buongiorno 7; Mazzocchi 6.5 (Elmas 6), Lobotka 6.5, McTominay 6, Olivera 6 (Spinazzola 6); Politano 6.5, Lang 6 (Neres 6); Hojlund 5.5
Best Napoli player: Giovanni Di Lorenzo – Back in the back-three tonight after playing out wide against Inter, the Italian put in a much better performance than we’ve seen often this season. Was solid defensively and also helped launch Napoli attacks, let down, however, by his teammates.
Lowest Napoli rating: Rasmus Hojlund – Missed a couple of good chances but was also generally ineffective. Struggled to get past the hard-working Parma defence.
Coach: Cristian Stellini 6 – Hard to say it doesn’t feel like a misstep from the stand-in coach. Conte and he decided to leave Spinazzola and Elmas on the bench despite decent performances in recent games. Brought them on in the second half, and they performed well, but too little too late. Another stagnant performance from Conte’s side, this time led by the assistant.
Parma: Rinaldi 7; Circati 6, Troilo 7, Valenti 7; Britschgi 5.5, Keita 7, Estevez 6, Ordonez 6, Sorensen 6 (Valeri 6); Ondrejka 6 (Pellegrino 6), Cutrone 5.5 (Bernabe 6)
Best Parma player: Filippo Rinaldi – The 23-year-old goalkeeper was in good form today, making four saves, including two very good stops in the first half. Had command over his box and even took one for the team and received a booking for wasting time late on.
Lowest Parma rating: Patrick Cutrone – In his hour on the field, was probably Parma’s least effective player – but then that is part and parcel of being a striker for a team that is sitting behind the ball. Had limited involvement but was beaten far too easily by his markers.
Coach: Carlos Cuesta 7.5 – A real defensive masterclass from Cuesta’s side today, who visited the champions not expecting to come away with anything. The visitors soaked up the pressure and secured a vital result.
