NFL Announces Patriots TreVeyon Henderson Up For Major Award

The NFL announced its official Rookie of the Year ballot late Tuesday afternoon.

Six players earned the honor of becoming a nominee.

Headlining the group is New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan and Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger are the other five rookies recognized.

The NFL’s Rookie of the Year ballot is different from the Associated Press NFL Honors ceremony that takes place on the Thursday before the Super Bowl, where awards like the MVP are handed out. Fans vote for the winner of the NFL’s award.

Henderson was the 37th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, but his stats are very comparable to those of the sixth overall selection, Jeanty.

Henderson rushed for 911 yards and nine touchdowns on just 180 carries for an average of 5.1 yards per carry. Jeanty recorded 975 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 266 carries for an average of just 3.7 yards per carry.

Henderson caught 35 passes for an additional 221 yards and one more touchdown. Jeanty recorded 55 receptions for 346 yards and five touchdowns.

As far as the quarterback candidates go, Dart recorded 2,272 passing yards in 14 games played, while Shough tallied 2,384 passing yards in just ten starts.

Carolina’s rookie receiver, McMillan, recorded a 1,014-yard season on 70 receptions and hauled in seven touchdowns.

Schwesinger is the only defensive player on the ballot after leading the 5-12 Browns with 156 tackles. He also had 2.5 sacks and two interceptions.

You can vote for Henderson here! Voting closes at the end of the month.
