0 0

CONGRATULATIONS to Spiders skipper Euan Murray – voted Buck’s Bar Player of the Month for December.

The defender was solid at the back and pitched in with a vital equaliser against Partick Thistle in the last match of 2025 – a month since his vital header at Linlithgow set up this Saturday’s trip to Stranraer in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.

Murray picked up almost a third of the December vote – the largest turnout of this season, with a  wide spread of candidates put forward by you the Queen’s Park supporters.

The captain came out on top ahead of back-up goalkeeper Milosz Sliwinski whose popularity and personal support was clear from the number of early votes cast and despite playing just one game in December – the 2-1 KDM Evolution Trophy win over Clyde.

In third spot was previous back-to-back winner Matty Shiels, narrowly ahead of fellow defender turned goal-getter Henry Fieldson.

The Englishman’s first two professional goals saw him finish fourth ahead of another two-time winner Josh Fowler who continues to lead the goalscoring charts.

Outwith the top five there were notable numbers for Aidan Connolly and Louis Longridge too.

Euan Murray collected his monthly prize with a visit to Buck’s Bar at 1021 Cathcart Road – just around the corner from The city Stadium.

The rock’n’roll chicken restaurant is one of five throughout Scotland in Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews, boasting an array of chicken dishes, vegetarian and vegan options and hot sauces from around the world.

Voting for January’s player of the month will open after our fixture with Arbroath on January 31.
