Woking 4-0 Hartlepool United

Enterprise National League

Laithwaite Community Stadium

10th January 2026

Woking kicked off 2026 in style as Hartlepool United were left feeling blue after a horror showing at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

Livewire forward Josh Osude was rewarded for a good run of recent form with a start, and his energy forced the first chance of the game, when George Evans could only spill his low ball into the path of Aiden O’Brien. The Millwall loanee recovered well to push O’Brien’s effort away.

It wouldn’t take long after for the deadlock to be broken. A superb delivery from Caleb Richards, fresh from extending his contract in midweek, was met by the head of Olly Sanderson, who directed the ball into the top left corner to give Evans no chance and give Woking reward for a promising start.

The opening half hour was dominated by the Cards, who doubled their lead just before it finished. Patient build up play from Osude and Harry Beautyman saw the latter guide the ball into the path of Chin Okoli, with the centre half on the spot to smash past Evans and into the back of the net.

Pools’ day went from bad to worse on the stroke of half time, when a superb bit of skill from Osude was met by a rash, late challenge from Cameron John, who made absolutely no effort to play the ball in wiping out the forward and after a long delay was shown a straight red card.

Half Time: Woking 2-0 Hartlepool United

It took until half an hour into the second half for the Cards to seal the three points when substitute Jack Turner’s drilled cross was flicked into the bottom corner by Beautyman.

With the game already decided, Woking added some gloss onto the scoreline when two subs combined as Tariq Hinds dispossessed his man and found Ashley Boatswain inside the box, who finished past Evans after extending his stay at the Cards in midweek.

There was very nearly more cause for celebration as 18-year-old academy graduate Tom Dryer was agonisingly denied his first senior goal by a Maxim Kouogun block on the line, but job very well done for Neal Ardley’s side.
