Patriots Legend Asante Samuel Destroys Cam Newton After Drake Maye Attack

Former New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton is back to his usual antics, once again attacking MVP front-runner Drake Maye.

This iteration of the Newton tantrum included calling Maye a “game manager” and blaming him for the firing of former Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo.

All of Patriots nation stands with their 23-year-old phenom quarterback, and that apparently also includes two-time Super Bowl champion Asante Samuel.

Samuel, now 44 years old, was a part of New England’s back-to-back Super Bowl-winning seasons in 2003 and 2004.

He took to X to go on a multiple-post rant with the intent of invalidating Newton’s claims. The first one was posted at 7:24 AM on Saturday.

“Honestly, Cam Newton wasn’t a game changer,” Samuel said. “He was just a big guy that can run the ball. Not much talent in that.”

Samuel continued, asking his fans to tag Newton, saying he wants the fight.

He then replied directly to Newton’s claim that Maye isn’t a “game changer” by stating that the former NFL MVP Newton wasn’t one either.

“Cam cries no one wants to sign him because he thinks he’s like that,” Samuel said. “So delusional. Cam you can run because your big brother.

“How many years was Cam a game changer. Please tell me. Maybe one year?”

Samuel was seemingly satisfied after his four Newton-related X posts in 30 minutes, but continued to poke at the podcaster throughout the day.

In one post, Samuel credited Newton’s MVP run to the 2015 Carolina Panthers’ historically good defense.

The Samuel-Newton beef is most likely just getting started, but it’s nice to see Patriots legends stepping up for the mild-mannered quarterback as he gears up to make the first playoff run of his career.
