Thanks Sean – Media team update

0 15

QUEEN’S PARK FC would like to place on record the club’s collective thanks and appreciation to Sean Davenport after more than a decade of service to the Spiders media team.

Sean began as a volunteer helping out with social media 12 years ago but is best known for the past six years behind the camera at QPTV.

It is this sterling work which has been identified and admired externally, leading him to step away from the club at the beginning of December to focus on freelance camera operator work on a national, and international, stage – testament to the  high standards set with Queen’s Park.

Sean said: “It’s been an incredible journey with some amazing highs, none more so than a certain visit to Ibrox earlier this year. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work for such a great club and to have worked alongside and got to know so many amazing people.

“What started as assisting with the odd match day social media post all those years ago turned into me having the chance to undertake just about every possible media team task in one form or another over the years.

“Laterally, in the last six years, the club put their trust in me to take on the role of videographer, having never picked up a camera. I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined where it would take me and the opportunities it would go on to open up for me in recent years and for that, I will be forever grateful.

“I’m excited to see what the future holds and what opportunities might lie ahead now.”

Queen’s Park media and communications manager David Oliver added: “Since I joined the club in March Sean has been an invaluable member of the media team, not only for his camerawork and expertise but his knowledge right across all aspects of the club’s media and broadcast output.

“He’s held in such high regard by players, staff and fellow club’s media teams and and only once working alongside him could his vast talents be appreciated as well as his can-do attitude.

“He quickly became a friend as well as a colleague and thoroughly deserves his opportunities he has worked so hard for and while it is with a heavy heart we lose him to focus on these and take his talents further, he will be welcome back anytime – and we are grateful he has agreed to help QPTV where schedules allow.

“We are also grateful to videographer Nick Kosic who has stepped into Sean’s shoes to maintain the high standards set behind the camera and continue our content and output for the club and fans.”
